  • 60%-120% higher risk of dying of diabetes and kidney failure.
  • 10% more risk of fatal cancer.
  • 20% more risk of failed lungs.

What cause obesity?
Obesity occurs over time when you take in more calories than you use. Your body stores these excess calories as fat. Obesity tends to run in families. Unhealthy eating habits and inactive lifestyle also contribute to obesity.

The World Health Organization (WHO) predicts that there will be about 2.3 billion overweight and 700 million obese adults by 2015. At least 20 million children under the age of 5 years were overweight globally in 2005.
